Since my childhood, whenever I am reading a book related to the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), I usually read this sentence recurrently." There is a role model for you in the life of Holy Prophet (PBUH)". But, over time, I interpreted this sentence and understood the hidden meaning behind these words.
It took many years of my life to understand these words. Based on my experience, I am sharing the meaning and practical application of this line with you. Let us go into the details and discover more about it.
Holy Prophet (PBUH) is the last Prophet of Almighty Allah. His life is a guidebook for every step of life. I will explain few aspects of his life from where modern youth can get inspiration to deal with the challenges of the modern era.
How to be patient in different challenges of life?
This life journey is difficult for all of us and when we are going through hard times, we have to be patient. How? Whenever you are in a difficult situation, you need to be patient, learn it from the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Remember the time of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), his father passed away before his birth. His mother passed away when he was just six years old. The time when he buried his mother in a barren place during a journey with a servant. How patient he was when his uncle, Abu Jahil tortured him.
Your reaction should be according to the practices of your role model. How he reacted to those situations and hence you should also respond in the same manner. How he forgave the murderer of his uncle is also a beautiful example of his patience. What was his reaction when Allah put him on a trail by giving and then taking away four sons?
How to stick to the truth?
Most people know the truth and they want to follow it but they are never consistent. In most situations, they are scared. You should not be scared of being a truthful person. When you know that you are following the right path then stick to it no matter what. Let us take an overview of the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
He knew that he was on the right side. He endured every brutal action of the people of Makkah but he never left his point. He rejected all the offers of the kingship of few states and marrying the beautiful girl etc. He remained stick to the truth for eighteen years and after this long period, the people of Makkah accepted his teachings and accepted Islam.
If such a situation happens with you in which society or your relatives are against you. However, they are following nothing but lies. Then take the example from the life of your role model. But here is a condition that you must know the truth first and sticking to a lie is nothing but following your ego.
How to be a leader?
Leadership is one of the most demanded skills of this century. Leadership does mean only political leaders. The person who leads a few family members, class, etc., and the Imam who leads Muslims of his area are leaders. The leadership of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is evident from the battle of Badar and Uhud. How he led the Muslims in several battles when Muslims were in a miserable economic situation? How to keep the morale of your followers high in a difficult situation? How to do justice among them and keep them on the track of following Almighty Allah.
Today, when a political situation becomes tough, most leaders don’t know how to manage this situation. His life is a perfect model for dealing with the worst scenarios. He got injured and his two front teeth got martyred but he assembled the whole army in the time of chaos and organized it in the battle of Uhud.
A guide for communicational skills
Communication is the need of life. We have to communicate all the time to deliver ideas and while taking help from others but motivating words are a great power. The life of our model is a guide for learning this most demanding skill of this century. Allah says in Holy Quran:
" It was by the mercy from Allah that you were lenient with them. Had you been rough and harsh-hearted, they would have dispersed from around you; pardon them before therefore and ask forgiveness for them, and take counsel with them in the affair; then when you are resolved, put your trust in Allah, certainly, Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him)".
As he practiced the right way of communication, we can take guidance from his life. This guidance is enough for a sales manager who wants to improve his communication to increase sales for the company and for a teacher who wants to make his words more effective for his student. In this way, modern youth can take help from the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
It is evident from this discussion that modern youth is facing difficulty in learning these soft skills in the twenty-first century but we can take help from the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in every aspect. The only need is to follow and consider him as a practical role model.
