Almighty Allah blessed us with this beautiful life and provided complete guidance of life through Quran and Sunnah. But, in contrast to this, the lives of Muslims seem highly imbalanced. I have been observing this for the past few months. Have you ever observed this? I think it's common among us nowadays.
I started pondering over it. The answer which I found is the lack of Quran and Sunnah teachings in our daily life. You may agree with me or not. I observed that Sunnah’s are a part of our knowledge but not a part of our activities. Yes, I can claim that it’s a reality.
The life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is a role model for us and following all the teachings and practices of his life will make our lives beautiful. But, even if you find some of the teachings difficult to follow, several other practices take less than a minute. Do you have some time to follow them? I think, your answer will be yes. In this blog, I am going to tell you three Sunnah’s of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) that you can follow now. Does it sound odd to your ears? I don’t know if you will answer yes or know but I am quite sure that you can follow these Sunnah from the next very second. Let's have a look at these easy Sunnah’s:
Say Salam or Bismillah while entering your home:
Before telling you the advantages of saying Salam and Bismillah while entering your home, I want to tell you an important piece of information first. When you say Bismillah while entering your home, Satan will leave your house. What can be more beneficial than this? It's surprising to utter a single phrase and get rid of Satan. As a result, you will get rid of the negativity that Satan transfers us and make us slow and sluggish in our activities. Here is the hadith of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) about this:
When a person enters his home and mentions the name of Allah (says Bismillah) at the time of entering it and while eating the food, Satan says (addressing himself) You have no place to spend the night and no evening meal.
This Hadith also tells that you must say Bismillah before starting your meal. It brings barakah in your food. I think, after reading the first Sunnah, you came to know that you can start now. It does not take even a minute so please make it a habit to utter Bismillah while eating and entering home.
1. Go to bed and get up early every day:
Early to bed and early to rise is a common saying but your Deen gives a more practical implementation of this in Islamic practices. For example, Fajr prayer is a way to make you get up from the bed before sunrise. Similarly, getting up earlier than usual requires going to bed early or vice versa. It is the most important habit that a Muslim should adopt because morning is the time of high productivity and you shouldn’t miss it in any case. Furthermore, when you get up earlier, usually you take the speed of time in your fist and you can schedule your activities accordingly. My debate about the advantages of getting up earlier might not affect you, but this Hadith stated below will have.
During your sleep, Satan knots three knots at the back of the head of each of you, and he breathes the following words at each knot, The night is, long, so keep on sleeping, if that person wakes up and celebrates the praises of Allah, then one knot is undone, and when he performs ablution the second knot is undone, and when he prays, all the knots are undone, and he gets up in the morning lively and in good spirits, otherwise he gets up in low spirits and lethargic".
1. Use Siwak and maintain oral hygiene:
Your mouth is the most important part of your body and Islam stressed the cleanliness of the oral cavity at various places. Teeth are an important part of our body and even disturbance in one tooth is very painful. Therefore, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) advised all Muslims to use Siwak at least once a day. It is such an important action that Holy Prophet (PBUH) stressed it in these words:
"Make a regular practice of the miswak, for verily, it is healthy for the mouth and it is a pleasure for the Creator"
Now look, this Hadith connects Siwak with the pleasure of Allah. You can Siwak and get the pleasure of Allah. Subhan Allah. How Allah made Islam easy for us. After reading this hadith, I’m sure you can start this Sunnah now.
Dear brother and sisters, Islam is easy for us if we obey it properly. It's easier to start with the easier practices that you can readily adopt. Adopt Holy Sunnah of Holy Prophet (PBUH) and let Barakah come into your life.
